INCI Name: Dimethicone
Cyclopentasiloxane Substitute Low Viscosity Dimethicone SQ-SIL V5N has the INCI name Dimethicone. It is a colorless transparent volatile silicone fluid with purity ≥99.0% and viscosity of 1.5–5.0 mm²/s at 25 ℃. The content of D4 and D5 is no more than 0.1%. With moderate volatility and excellent spreadability, it leaves no greasy feeling and stays on skin and hair for a while to deliver smooth touch. Featuring similar structure and performance to Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), it acts as a perfect D5 substitute without application restrictions.
It boasts multiple functions. It cuts down surface friction to create soft and lubricious texture on skin and hair. It forms a thin, breathable and water-repellent film to resist dust, moisture and minor abrasion, delivering water resistance, anti-fouling and gloss enhancement effects. It also reduces surface tension to facilitate pigment dispersion and stabilize formulas, and works as lubricant and anti-sticking agent. It is widely used in makeup, skincare, haircare, sunscreens, antiperspirants and deodorants.
SQ-SIL V5N has stable physical and chemical properties with good resistance to temperature, acid and alkali, and great compatibility with various cosmetic ingredients. It is mild, low-irritant and safe to use with fresh skin feel. It supports flexible viscosity adjustment and maintains long-lasting efficacy after film formation.
