SQ-EM 35,INCI Name is Polyacrylamide and C13-14 Isoparaffin and Laureth-7,it is a liquid, ready-to-use multifunctional rheological modifier, which serves as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and thickener. It is widely used in hair care products, with primary functions including thickening, stabilizing formulations, improving texture, and providing a smooth feel. It can be directly added to either the oil phase or water phase without pre-mixing, heating, or additional processing, making it suitable for both cold and hot manufacturing methods. It is compatible with various oils (including plant oils and both polar/non-polar oils) and can stabilize formulations containing organic or inorganic pigments, alcohol (up to 40%), polyols, or fruit acids. Additionally, it can be used in shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, and other hair care products, as well as creams, lotions, and gel-like creams. Recommended usage is 2.0–5.0% when used alone and 0.2–2.0% when combined with other emulsifiers.
1. Smoother and Silkier:
It forms a very thin, even oleophilic-hydrophilic film on the hair surface, reducing combing friction, and prevents tangling effectively.
2. More Stable and Thicker:
For formulators, it locks high-content silicones, plant oils, and cationic conditioning agents into the system without separation or oil precipitation. The viscosity can be adjusted freely, from flowing emulsions to thick creams.
3. Brighter and Lighter:
It doesn’t leave the “heavy fake slip” feeling typically associated with traditional cationic polymers. The shine is transparent, and fine hair remains light without being weighed down.
4. More Compatible:
It stabilizes formulations like alcohol-based leave-in conditioners, high glycerin moisture masks, or post-coloring care with acidic pH, reducing the cost of trial-and-error in formulation development.
In summary:
It makes conditioners "slip noticeably, feel light and natural, and stable with complex formulas."
